Thomson Line in Woodlands - URA Concept Plan 2001

The Thomson line is expected to complete in 2018, just ten years from now. Running from the north, it will start at Woodlands and end at the southern hub of Singapore. From URA Concept Plan 2001, we can see the initial design of the future TL route and its surround land uses. The locations of Woodlands MRT stations along the TL will have major impact on the prices of existing developments. Most important it will also spearhead the development of Woodlands as a fully developed Regional Centre in Singapore.

The existing MRT Northern line runs along Woodlands Ave 3 and 7. The new line will cut through the meeting point of these roads at the current Woodlands MRT Station, joining the SLE at the South and Admiralty Road at the North
